Hello! Thank you for your interest in my work. The fact that you are reading this means that something at least compelled you to check me out. Sweet! I'll take it. 

My work is primarily hand-built with slabs of clay. Meaning, that instead of throwing my pottery on a wheel, I roll it out into thin slabs, cut out the pieces needed and put them all together. At first, where I was happy to be freed from only making cylindrical vessels, I was super frustrated with the slight warping that comes along with hand-building. I spent hours and hours trying to make my pieces perfectly round or perfectly square. Then, after getting pretty close, things changed & I began to see hand=building as an extension of my body. Since I am not perfectly round and symmetrical, why was I putting that kind of pressure on the things my imperfect body created. So, I learned to embrace that beautiful, imperfect warp. 

 

I build all my pottery at the Chico Ceramics Center and bring them home to glaze in my glaze room.
